I hate it when my thoughts won't go from waves to words.
Or master the muse inside for cures to the way
I almost cried but stopped before the acid began.
I ran away over the carpets and tiles and stolen rocks.
To the woods, he says, the woods under infinite locks
to block the uncommon nonsense that may be drifting again from the places I have been.

In the late 1860s, Germany became invested with war and poverty. In the course of only twenty years, Germany was involved in seven wars. As a result of war, the people of Germany were massively taxed to pay for the supplies needed in combat. Desperate to escape the corrupted land that was their beloved home, many Germans fleeted to a new country they heard of in the west. A country promising of roads paved with gold and freedom for all. But the task of coming to America wasn’t an easy one.
The Germans traveled to America, living an anxious two weeks aboard steam ships bereft of cleanliness, comfort, and basic human decency. The ships were overcrowded and its passengers were accommodated as if they were circus animals. Finally arriving at the coast of New York, Ellis Island was almost under the Germans’ feet. "The first time I saw the Statue all the people were rushing to the side of the boat 'look at her, look at her,' and in all kinds of languages. 'There she is,
there she is,' like it was somebody who was greeting them," said one women.
No more poverty, and a chance to make something valuable out of life. Unfortunately, the Germans were in for a terrible surprise.
Everyone was speaking a different language, tons of questions. Chaos must’ve been set on rampage in many immigrant minds.

HIV/AIDS in Africa
1. An estimated 22.5 million.
2. Swaziland appears to be hardest hit because their HIV prevalence rate is 33.4%, which is the highest of all Africa. This area is probably the least sanitary, very poor, and very little education about diseases and everything.
3. HIV/AIDS has resulted in the death of many African children’s parents’ death. And AIDS is becoming a steadily increasing cause of orphans in Africa.
4. AIDS orphans have to face the loss of their parents, or never even having a parent, and are most likely going to be neglected and experience emotional trauma. This is extremely awful for kids to have to experience this, especially since they are mostly ignorant to sexual consequences. They can also be socially isolated by society, suffer the inability to obtain daily necessities, and a limited (if any) education.
5. If this dilemma continues, Africa’s children will inevitably become more and more likely to be neglected and socially isolated. Nothing good could come of this problem. This relates to Africa’s future because, as cliché as it is, children are the future. The children of Africa will take the place of their parents and probably continue the trend of AIDS.
6. AIDS/HIV impacts the income levels of families in many ways. If a member of the family has AIDS, they won’t be capable of working. And more likely than not, someone will need to stay home with the ill to care for them. Children are sometimes forced to quit school and get jobs, ultimately abandoning the opportunities for any high level career. And lastly, women are often resorted to prostitution which is terrible in itself, but it also increases the spread of HIV/AIDS. It’s really a double whammy.
7. Families have to decide what they need to spend their money on in order to survive. When affected by HIV/AIDS this isn’t an easy task. Clothing, electricity, food, and services are common to be cut or diminished. Also, women are starting to work in fields that used to be strictly men.
8. Fewer children attend school as a result of HIV/AIDS because they could either be caring for an infected family member, or helping to make ends meet for their family. Or families simply cannot afford the school fees for their children. Teachers are affected as well; sick teachers can’t teach.
9. Lack of education will affect Africa’s future because Africa’s infrastructure will not grow, their sexual education will not level up to the requirement, and less and less teachers are able to teach.
10. HIV/AIDS reduced able labourers which means less money for the government, which means that the government will want to tax citizens more to try to take care of the disease that they are pressured to assist. But since African’s don’t have a lot of money in the first place, they can’t pay taxes, so the government has very little to work with. It’s basically a big run-on sentence.
11. If nothing is done about this issue in Africa, they will continue to go backwards while the rest of the world goes forward. AIDS/HIV is a huge obstruction to the continent, and it will take a very long time with very dedicated people to remove that obstruction. I think we need to make a bigger attempt to educate Africans. I know that won’t solve the problem, but it could hopefully begin to educate the children of Africa.
